Urban Decay Haul!!

Hey Guys<3

So I went to Debenhams last night and was super happy to pick up some urban decay items! So I just thought I would share them with you all!

1. 24/7 glide on eye pencil in zero-  (a simple black), I have been meaning to buy a black eyeliner for a while because the one I have isn't very good. i was considering getting a different colour but I figured if I was going to spend this much on a eyeliner I want it to be a colour I will where all the time. It really does glide on, easy application and a lovely soft pencil.
2.Urban Decay Eyeshadow in UZI- Gorgeous silver glitter eyeshadow, it has small pieces of glitter which I think adds a nice touch. Perfect for a party, so pigmented and great quality, not for everyday use though obviously ;)
3. Mini Urban Decay eyeshadow primer- I have actually never tried this product even though I know it has been raved about a lot! I actually managed to get this little bottle free as a tester which I though was soo lucky! I tried it today and my eyeshadow is still in tact and hasn't budged also my make-up hasn't smudged one bit. Very happy with this product and thinking of getting the bigger bottle. If any of you have had experience with this and want to give me some advice on whether to buy the big bottle please comment below!<3

Hair Products of the Minute

Hi Everybody!
Just wanted to let you all know the hair products I am using at the moment most days on my hair! And give you a hint on the products I recormend! ;)

From the left to right:
1. Charles Worthington's Brillient Shine salan results shampoo £5.10- I love this! It's a really unusual bottle shape but I like that, it really does make my hair shine gorgeously! When I use it I really do feel like my hair is having a deep clean and it lathers nicely.
2. The body shop's olive glossing conditioner- £5.00One of the best conditioners I have ever tried, my hair comes out of the shower feeling very smooth and its not too harsh plus I love the olive scent!
Aussie dual curl defining+shine mousse- This is a great product for me because I use it when I get out of the shower (when my hair is wet) and because my hair is already wavy this just defines them and makes it so my hair doesn't go frizzy, it is great for the scrunched up messy look. What I do is flip my hair over, put the mousse on my hands and scrunch it into the end of my hair. This makes my hair dry non frizzy.
Batiste dry shampoo mini bottle £1.51- Lovin this product! It is a new find of mine and once I have used up this bottle I am defiantly going to go out and buy the bigger size. It is just great to spruce up the "second day hair" and it works really well!

Hope you guys liked this post!!

How to wear your stage make-up?

Heey Everyone!!
Recently I have been in a show at the Derby Playhouse, it was soo much fun but a lot of hard work. I thought it would be fun to show you how to wear your stage make up. The make-up you have to wear on stage has to be bright and noticeable for the lights to reflect your face.

Cover your face in foundation to hide all of them noticable blemishes because you are doing a performance in front of a lot of people and you don't want a bright red spot on the tip of your nose to be seen.

Secondly a whole load of bronzer so you look vaguely orange but that won't stand out too much on the stage luckily, also I'd suggest going down your neck and shoulders too so you don't look like you've just done your face because thats not pretty ladies!
Next up, your bright pink busher, rosy cheeks is super cute but don't look too dolly.

Now the colour make-up you'll be shocked that I had to wear something quite so cringey, red lipstick and blue eyeshadow. Yes also known as clown make-up I'd say, though the best thing about your show make-up is the GLITTER I used 17 glitter liner all along the top of my lash line then nearly half way into the bottom lash line, a sexy slightly curled wing line and then I put glitter dots on my temples then rubbed them in to make a pretty glitery shine around your eyes.

Lots of love Jade x

How to get rid of tangles

Hi Everybody! :)
If your hair is really tangled up you'll need to take special care when you try to untangle the knots or you'll risk badly damaging your crowning glory!
So here's the best way to get rid of tangled up hair:
1. Start by smoothing lots of conditioner over your hair- use olive oil if you don't have conditioner.

2. Try to separate the strands using your fingers. Start at the ends of your hair and work up towards the roots. Keep going until you get of the large knots out. Hold the hair near the scalp with one hand and use the other to untangle. That way, when you brush, there will be less pulling (and less pain).

3. Take a wide toothed comb and work it gently through you hair from the bottom upwards. Rub conditioner over the teeth of the comb to help it glide through the hair really easily.

4. Finally comb through the hair with a wide-toothed comb until all the tangles are removed.

5. Rinse out conditioner once your hair is knot-free. Then shampoo and condition again!

Top Tip- Do you wake up every morning with tangled hair? Try placing a rectangular silk scarf over your pillow while you sleep- it'll stop your hair fuzzing into knots! ;)

Charlie Perfume Review

Heey Everyone!!

Firstly excuse tthe picture. This perfume is fairly cheap I got this as a present in a gift set which was really lovely and I think it's only around £10 which is all good.
This smell is an all round good smell, meaning everybody loves a bit of Charlie! It's quite a floral scent but kind of musky in a sense you could wear this scent all year round and it will still be in season.
The bottle is rather plain but I like the baby pink and across the white lid it says Charliein the logo's font which is a special and subtle soomething extra.

Shopping Haul - 18.09.2011

Heey Everyone!

Put together a little haul for you. Comment on if you have it or if you want us to review it!
-Collection 2000 dazzleling gel liner (£2.99)- Obviously not for a everyday use but nice for a night out or just a bit of fun. I bought this is silver with a purple tint.
-Rimmel's Glam' Eyes (£4.49)- The packaging is a little too hard to open but I did like the fact that it came with a sponge applicator, doing a quick swatch at home, the pigmentation seemed pretty good. The colour is celestial Sapphire.
-Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse (£5.69)- People have been raving about this product recently and the label says The Best In The UK! Which sort of means I have no choice but to buy it. I will review this product some time after using it for a week or so.
-Maybelline Dream Touch Blush (£4.19)- I've been eyeing this for quite a while now, this colour is perfect on my pale skin tone, it's smooth and seems to blend well after swatching it in the store. This is in the colour Peach.
- Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick (£4.99)- This was more of an impulse buy because as you can see I bought quite a few lippies. This is in the colour Airy Fairy it's a dusty pink colour I can't wait to use it for my neutral look.
- MUA Lipstick (£1.00)- A cute hot pink with a shimmer goes well for a night out.
-MUA Lipstick (£1.00)- This looks really sexy and gothic I didn't think I'd like it but I did, yay.

Primark Knitted Jumper (£14.00) -These big unfitted jumpers are really in style at the moment, I tried out a few and this one was my favourite. Over leggings I think this will look good.
Primark Loop Scarf (£2.00) - This is a plain white woolly scarf, perfect for the upcoming cold days.
QUIZ (£4.00) - This is more of a summer buy but I think for August it'll look good with them black or white tops.
Accessorize Flower Headband - This was really cute and I had to get it, if you look at my outfit of the day I sneakily put it on because it went perfectly with my top.http://beautyknowitalls.blogspot.com/2011/09/outfit-of-day-18092011.html?showComment=1316367452110#c3853705470541685366
H&M Plaited Wristband (£2.00)- OMG I have been searching for a cheap leather looking bracelet for school and I found it today I was so happy.

A close up!

Nails Of The Night!

Hi Everybody!
These nails are what I used to jazz up a boring black outfit and I hope you like them! I used a glitter coat on top because I was going out for the night and I think adding a glitter coat on top of any nail really just creates a whole new nail look. The top coat I used was BarryM's Pink Iridescent, it is a really great quality one and for only £2.99!

The nail polish underneath is by Nails Inc and this one is more expensive at £11 from my local Boots store, but the quality is fantastic, I have had it for over a year now and there is no "crusting" at the top! It isn't gloppy at all and is a good colour to replace bright red in the fall. This is the colour/number 330.

Hope your liked this post! xx

How To Look Your Best In a Photograph

Hi Everybody!
I know that I really don't photograph well! But here are some tips that I have found useful while in front of the camera to help you if you are the same.

-Brush your hair quickly in case it's sticking up and check that you don't have anything stuck in your teeth.

- Don't stand straight on to the camera turn your body slightly to one side, but keep your head facing forwards for a more natural pose.

- Don't look directly into the lens, look slightly to the side instead- this will help to avoid "red eye".

- Press your tongue to the roof of your mouth, lift your chin slightly as though you are stretching to look over a high garden fence and smile. This way you will avoid any unflattering shadows.

- If your photographer is using a flash widen your eyes a little just before the picture is taken so you aren't caught with yours eyes closed.

- Try not to stand with your back to the light. You will appear in silhouette, which will defeat the object.

- People always look good in a photograph when they are laughing, try to this of something funny just before the shot and you'll be caught at your best possible moment!

How to give yourself a mini facial!

Hi Everybody!
Every couple of weeks, set aside a bit of time ti give yourself a relaxing salon-style facial at home. It won't cost anything and will help give your skin a deep down clean and make it super soft! So lets get started:

1. Smooth your skin with cleansing cream, gentle soap or facial wash. Leave on for one or two minutesto give it some time to dissolve grime and make-up, then smooth away with a clean damp flannel.

2. Massage a blob of facial scrub or some porriage oats over your skin to whisk away dead surface skin cells abd clear blocked pores. Rinse away with warm water.

3. Fill a bowl with a kettleful of freshly boiled water. Then lean over the bowl capturing the steam by placing a towel over your head (you might look a fool but this will work wonders). Stay there for five minutes to allow the steam to warm up and soften your skin. Sensitive skins should skip this step.

4. Spalsh your face with warm water and pat dry.

5. Smooth over a home made fruit face pack:
Oily Skins: Crush six strawberries with a fork, smooth onto your face for three minutes.
Normal/dry skin: Crush a peeled banana with a fork, smooth onto your face and leave for 5 minutes.

6. Remove the mask with a clean tissuethen rinse your face with warm water.

7. Finish with a splash of cool water to freshen your skin. Pat dry with a towen.

8. Dot your skin with moisturiser and massage in to encourage a bright complexion.

And thats it! Hope you liked this post!!

Rock Muse- Miss Sixty Perfume review

Hi Everybody!! Rock Muse by Miss Sixty (£10.65) was supposedly inspired by rock' n roll spirit and vintage scents. And for a radiant young woman! This smell really does make me feel good! It is the kind of scent that people comment on and is noticeable, it is a mixture between fruity and flowery and I can smell grapefruit and plum but also rose!  Vanilla is definitely in there, and it compliments the Berry's well! One bad thing about this perfume is that it doesn't last all day! It seems to come off fairly quickly, the bottle that i have though is fairly small so I can carry it around in my bag or pocket. Although it is such a beautiful bottle that I do like to have it on display!   I would say it screams Autumn! Also for the price it really isn't bad at all!
Hope this has been helpful!!

Friday Treats- Chocolate Orange cupcakes

Hi Everybody
Terry's Chocolate orange is one of my favorite treats! And I was looking for recipes and when I found this I got really excited because I had never seen anything like it! So I tried them out, and lets just say they didn't look quite as good as the picture above but they were very yummy so I defiantly recommend this recipe!

Ingredients

For the cupcakes
  • 120g/4oz plain flour
  • 140g/5oz caster sugar
  • 1 tsp baking power
  • 40g/1½oz unsalted butter
  • 50g/2oz dark chocolate, melted
  • 1 free-range egg
  • 125ml/4fl oz milk
  • 1 orange, juice only
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
For the white chocolate and orange butter cream
  • 125g/4½oz unsalted butter, softened
  • 250g/9oz icing sugar
  • 2-3 tbsp milk
  • 50g/1¾oz white chocolate, melted
  • 1 orange, zest only
  • 100g/3½oz orange chocolate

Preparation method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170C/325F/Gas 3. Line a 12-hole muffin tin with paper cases.
  2. Mix the flour, sugar and baking powder together in a food processor. Add the butter and pulse until combined.
  3. Whisk the melted chocolate, egg and milk together in a jug.
  4. Stir the chocolate mixture into the flour mixture until just combined.
  5. Spoon the mixture into the cases and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until risen and golden-brown and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. Remove from the oven and set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, mix the orange juice and granulated sugar together in a bowl. Carefully pour the orange juice mixture over the warm cakes and set aside to cool completely.
  7. For the white chocolate and orange butter cream, beat the butter in a bowl until light and fluffy. Carefully stir in the icing sugar and continue to beat for five minutes. Beat in the milk, melted chocolate and orange zest.
  8. Decorate the cupcakes with the butter cream.
  9. Use a sharp knife to make chocolate shavings from the orange chocolate and use them to decorate the cupcakes.
Hope you guys enjoy this recipe as much as I did! Thanks for reading! Please follow ;)

Nail Dry Review

Heey Everyone!!
I just had to tell you about this nail dry spray that i got in town the other day, in Poundworld! Who'd have known? But I love it when I'm in a rush in the morning.
Firstly you paint your nails and I suppose you could spray every coat of polish starting from base to your top coat but I only use it twice. What I do is put on my base coat, my first coat of colour, second coat, THEN I'll spray the Nail Dry then my top coat then I'll spray it AGAIN. Simple and it takes less than a minute to get touch dry. It works for me and heck it's only a pound and I seem to have quite a bit of product so I would suggest spending a quid on this.

Shared love from yours truly Jade!! xx

Tips For Back To School

Hi Everybody!
First Day back at school can be so hard especially if you are starting a new school, or even new a job, you are not always sure of the people you are going to meet or what you are going to have to do! I know i never get any sleep the night before school, but then in the morning everything is fine! So here are just some tips if you are feeling nervous:

What should you bring with you?
-Pencil case and basic stationary- its important to be prepared and you don't want to get told off for not taking the right thing!
-Deodorant/body spray/ mini perfume
-Your make-up bag if you are allowed to wear make-up, if you aren't sure what to put in your make-up bag check out our blog post http://beautyknowitalls.blogspot.com/2011/09/what-in-my-school-make-up-bag.html.
-Plain notebook or jotter pad, some schools provide these.
-Mints or a snack
-Your money
-It is also a good idea to hide £5 or even just £1 somewhere in your bag in case you loose your purse and you need emergency money, don't spend it in the vending machines, just forget it till you need it.
-ipod and phone if you are allowed them.

That's all you should be needing but if you are starting a new school here are some tips on making friends!

- When people approach you or you approach them try to make sure you keep a smile on your face because that is so welcoming and will automatically make people want to talk to you more than someone who is not smiling.
-Don't be afraid to mingle with all different people, girls and boys alot of them will be in the same position as you and might not know people!
- Be yourself, you don't want to pretend to be someone else when your around your real friends, it's important for people to just get to know the real you so that you don't come across false.
- Ask questions, people love to talk about themselves. Just listen intently and remember points that they make, so you can bring them up at a later time.
- If you are interested in netball or science or any hobby, join a club where there are people with the same interests as you and you can build off that.

Hope this helps you all in any way! Not really a beauty post but be expecting another post tomorrow! ;)
